A personal photograph I have been after for years.  The Flying Scotsman was taking a run round Fife but not stopping, after it being cancelled it eventually went ahead and it was all scramble to find a nice spot hoping nobody would be around, as we heading to Starley Hall area between Aberdour and Burntisland there was crowds on the roads and in the fields waiting for the 20.09 from Edinburgh.  I got down to the harbour hoping to take photographs of the train coming under me whilst I stood on and old bride to find the bridge had been fenced off so no access was available to the harbour for safety reasons.  With no time left to go anywhere else I decided to climb around the fence (very tall and sharp spikes with barbed wire around the ends) to get my photograph, its what we do as photographers.  I was stood there 20 minutes waiting and hoping some officials wouldnt come up reading the riot act but all was good.  What surprised me how fast this train moves, I was wanting some distance shots of it approaching me then i was going to run to the side of the bridge to get a long body shot but by the time I shot off a couple photographs, it was under and off to Burntisland, boy it could shift.  Although very proud of the few I got this is my favorite

A fantastic day with Mark and Emma at the Expressions Dance studio in Methil, its a converted church that the owners now use for their dance studio but have kept elements of the church within.  I have to say this was the best dressed venue I think I have ever been to that was not a hotel or purpose built venue, the owners have clearly put so much time and effort into the building, even to being out powerwashing the walls for a lovely backdrop for photographs.  We went down to Leven beach after the ceremony as there was not a cloud in the sky and got some fantastic images of the couple, and i also have to mention the best man, a brilliant guy as was all the wedding party, loads of smiles and hilarity on the day

Today we were at the Balwearie Golf Club or Kirkcaldy Golf Club as some know it, a lovely venue with the obvious fairway’s and fields in the distance.  Caitlin and Ryan had a humanist wedding which is very personal, we returned in the evening for some low sun and quietness outside before their first dance started.  They were a great couple to work with, and  having done Caitlin’s brothers wedding a couple of years ago it was so nice to meet up with family and friends again

Today I was up at the Queens Hotel in Dundee, a lovely old style Best Western Hotel in the City Centre, very capable and organised for weddings with the ceremony room, the bar and the wedding breakfast room all on the same floor next to each other.  Although the weather for Claire and George’s Wedding wasnt the best, the hotel has some stunning features including a lovely 4 story staircase and some amazing decor.  Claire’s Bridal Preps were at the hotel and George arrived an hour before, we took the groom over to the university gardens for some photographs.  After the ceremony we used the areas in the hotel as well as the front door onto the street to get a splash of outside into their photographs.  The Wedding breakfast setup was stunning and a great Ceilidh Band was playing in the evening.  A Love emotional day with a lovely couple.

Well, firstly the weather played ball, although freezing cold, and it was good to see the scaffolding had come down of the church.  I arrived at Louisa’s parents house, knocked the door and immediately offered bacon rolls and refreshments.  A controlled chaos was on the cards with 6 Bridesmaids, a flowergirl, a pageboy, mum and dad, 4 Hairdressers, 2 make up artists and a lovely big dog keeping tabs on everyone, Eventually i left making my way to the Church to catch up with the groom, and as the guests arrived, the church filled up.  A lovely service took place with Rev Frew, and we decided to remain in the church due to the cold for the Bridal Pictures and Parent pictures.  We made our way up to the hotel and even with the cold we managed to get the guests outside for a big group photo, and then some nice time with Louisa and Alan around the hotel grounds and the staircase/fireplace etc.  The Columbo’s were playing for the evening guests and although the evening was running late, the fun, laughter and drink was certainly flowing.  I had a lovely day with fantastic guests who were all so nice, commenting and asking do i ever stop.  With a big smile and sore feet i did say no.  I would like to thank Louisa and Alan for putting up with me yesterday and for a lovely wedding day and I wish you both and your two boys all the best for the future. xx
